How to Use Silicon Mix for Wig Care?

I'm excited to show you how I use Silicon Mix Deep Conditioner, my go-to deep conditioner for wig upkeep.  My wig always feels soft, glossy, and refreshed after this easy yet expert procedure.

What you need:

  • Wig
  • Silicon mix deep donditioner
  • Wide-toothed comb
  • A plastic bag
  • A bowl
  • Warm water
  • Mild sulfate-free shampoo (optional)

Step 1: Wash the Wig

Prior to starting your deep conditioning treatment, make sure your wig is clean.  Before gently rubbing a tiny bit of sulfate-free shampoo through my worn wig, I always rinse it in warm water to get rid of any surface dust.  This guarantees that the conditioning procedure won't be hampered by styling products or environmental accumulation.  I rinse the wig until the water runs clean, then set it on a stand to air dry until it's just a little wet, ready for the next stage.

Step 2: Prepare Conditioner Mix

Fill a basin with the recommended amount of Silicon Mix Deep Conditioner.  The wig's thickness and length determine how much is utilized.  Observe the directions provided on the product's label.  For most wigs, a few teaspoons is sufficient.  I'll use an additional tablespoon for wigs that are longer or denser.

Step 3: Apply and Seal in Moisture

I use the pointed end of my comb to smooth the conditioner from root to tip after carefully sectioning my wig with my fingers while it is resting on a stand.  I ensure that every strand is completely saturated, especially at the ends where damage usually manifests itself first.  I cover the wig with a plastic shower cap after coating it, which allows heat and moisture to penetrate as deeply as possible.

Step 4: Heat Treatment (optional)

I occasionally use low-heat air to blast into the cap for fifteen minutes or so to intensify the deep-conditioning effect.  Your wig strands may feel plumper and more durable as a result of the cuticle being opened and the conditioner being pushed deeper.

Step 5: Wait and Rinse

Depending on how thirsty your wig feels, ten to fifteen minutes should pass. Then, take off the cap and give it a thorough rinsing with lukewarm water.  After shaking out any extra, I use a cloth to gently pat the fibers and put the wig back on its stand to air dry.  You can already sense the hair's increased smoothness and silkiness at this point.

Step 6: Dry, Style, and Repeat

I comb through my wig after it's completely dry to bring back its natural bounce and desired style.  To preserve the integrity of my wig, I make it a point to repeat this deep-conditioning treatment every four to six weeks. I consistently observe a noticeable improvement in luster, manageability, and general health.  My wigs stay salon-fresh for a long time with regular Silicon Mix upkeep!

Conclusion

A silicone mix is a necessary substance for wig wearers' everyday upkeep.  Its silicone-based composition gives wigs the hydration, sheen, and protection they need to look better and last longer.  You can make sure that your wig always looks its best by using Silicone Mix frequently and adhering to the proper wig care instructions.
